Happy Bday Stella!

Mon, 26/02/2007 - 12:20 -- irma

On Friday I scraped all my courage together and took on peak hour traffic on the N1 to Pretoria... Oh the horror!
It was Stellas' Birthday and we had to celebrate!
I made it there safe and sound just to realize that it is much too hot in Pretoria and that I do not want to be there at all!
Well I was convinced to stay and a fan was placed in front of me and an icy drink in my hand.
We got ready to go out that evening and went to Cactus Creek, where I saved the life of Suicidal Andre (yes yes yes I know...the good deeds never stop... I can't help myself)
Then, when my work there was done we went to DropZone in Hatfield.
I continued with my good deeds by chatting to Xander and letting him feel good about himself by allowing him to buy me drinks(yup.. Xander from school was there). After Stella broke her shoe she hopped out and we went home just before sunrise.
Saturday we woke up early (can't sleep in that heat) and I made some delicious frozen vodka -induced cocktails for breakfast...and I kept making them till about 1am that evening.... making sure everybody stayed refreshed.
On Sunday I returned home to the cool breezy Joburg...

Friday 16 Feb - Sunday 18 Feb

Tue, 20/02/2007 - 13:00 -- irma
Friday we went to the Bowling club in Norwood to see some bands...
Turns out that the band members were all really angry and disturbed kids
who can't sing so instead they yelled.
Now as you all know I like heavy music and has always appreciated
a talented Muso... but that was ridiculous... they didn't say any words but instead
just forced their voices to make uncomfortable AAARRRRGGGGG sounds.
But there were a lot of really impressive and colourful Mow Hawks hopping around.
Good thing the music had no beat (or the instruments could not be heard over the screaming)
because if there was to start a moshpit a few eyes would've been poked out by those hairspray swords!
oh... and the barman was a pirate ( I am not joking... i have no idea what to you call that accent but
he sounded like a pirate).

Saturday was little Robbies' 21st bday party and well.... all I can say is that Leanne, Mike, Will, and I out partied
everyone there. The people started to pass out around 1am. I got home just before 5am.
Will get some pics from Kim and post them (didn't take my camera)

Sunday: Helen, Sylvi and I went to see a show about 60's music.. it was cool.
Afterward we went to Mama Thembos' in Greenside for cocktail hour... stayed there until about 9pm then
went to Jolly Rogers in Parktown got home just after midnight and slept like a baby!

PS. RIP Fransie

Weekend of February 9 to 11th

Thu, 15/02/2007 - 16:18 -- irma

Friday:
Event: Arnies bday party.
Details: Ok , so I was on Television.. Whoo Hoo .. I'm waiting for all the agents to call me and offer me lots of money.
We (Freds, Willem and I) were invited to be part of the live studio audience on Studio 1 on the channel MK89 (it is a South African music channel)
Then the floor manager asked me and Willem and Freds if we would each give a "shout out" to whoever we want.
Freds declined and instead stood behind me, waved at the camera and mouthed " Hello mom" . Willem and I did our shout outs.
Then we went to the pin and putter (pub at the local golf course) and met all my friends there for Arnies' bday celebration.
Round about midnight people started fading and went home... Hennie, Andre, Stefan and I refused to stop before sunrise!
So we went to Pete and Jerry's until their bar closed... then we moved on to Cantaloops... where we stayed for the rest of the evening/morning.
We even socialized with Ross, the lead singer from Prime Circle... Since I was on TV and I am also a celebrity now it is called socializing and
not stalking.
The sun started rising and we went home tired (hammered) but happy.

Saturday:
I only completely woke up after noon sometime, got ready and drove through to Pretoria for Johnny and Noi's wedding.
They looked fabulous and Noi is stunning.
I took it very slow on Saturday and was back to Joburg before midnight.
(Like you can see.. I did not wear my watch this weekend so the sun was my only guide.)

Sunday:
Sunday club was supposed to be a big 20km hike in Castle gorge with Quelene and the gang...
But it started at 7am and was going to be a long day at the end of a long weekend.. we just couldn't do it.
So instead leane and I went shopping in Eastgate, ate strange food, went home and napped.

BTW: Haydn and Carrot is engaged now.. Am I getting that old?
